I am Honored and Humbled
I am so honored and humbled that the members of the Orlando Life Member Club have chosen me as the President of the Club for the next two years. I only hope and pray I will be worthy of your trust and I can do half as good a job for you as Esther Ely has done these last few years. She melded two clubs together in what I believe is a great fashion and I believe we have a good strong club, not only for the fun of our meetings, but for the good of our community. We have a wonderful new Vice President, Kathy Lynch, coming on board and her credentials as a Pioneer are awesome. While she was still working, she was not only President of her Club, but held many other offices including the AT&T area Vice Presidency covering numerous AT&T clubs in the Central Florida area. Her expertise will help guide us in the next two years. Our Board of Directors is a really strong group of folks, and will add much to our club. We are lucky to have dedicated people willing to step up and manage our affairs.

Update on Club Activities
During 2009, our AT&T Life Member Club helped our community to a very great extent. We delivered an average of 150 small heart pillows a month to Arnold Palmer hospital, and throughout the year another 506 large heart pillows to Florida Hospital. Our members also created over 400 baby hats split between the two hospitals. We dressed 90 bears and filled 75 Christmas Stockings for Salvation Army in addition to picking up and delivering bakery products from Publix Super Markets on a weekly basis. Thousands of families were registered for the Salvation Army’s Thanksgiving dinner, and hundreds more to receive toys at Christmas. Members did quarterly “work days” at Magnolia School and Orlando Union Rescue Mission. Monthly book sales were held at the Veterans Administration and several of our members worked tons of hours at various seniors centers and nursing facilities in the area. Members gave out empty baby bottles at area churches and then worked to collect them when they were filled with money and then counted the money (the fun part) for JMJ Crisis Pregnancy Centers. Members created Hug-a-Bears for hospitals and to give to service personnel headed for Iraq and Afghanistan to leave with their families. Our club held a pizza and birthday cake luncheon for Seminole Work Opportunity Program (SWOP). Many of our members worked oodles of hours at local schools and we ran an essay contest among the schools where our members volunteer, giving the winner of the contest a laptop computer. We gave 200 dictionaries to Mollie Ray and Ivey Lane schools, as well as boxes and bags of school supplies. We financed and created 135 ditty bags filled with toiletry articles for Seminole County’s Meals on Wheels’ Neighborhood Dining Christmas Party. As various projects arise members shave generously donated additional monies to finance our endeavors for such projects as toiletry items for the Veterans administration, and the Orlando Union Rescue Mission, and school supplies. All in all, through December 2009, we have donated 16430 hours of volunteer time to our community.
YOU ARE JUST GREAT!!!

Florida Presidents’ Meeting
The Florida Presidents’ meeting was held in Stuart, Florida on December 4, and during that meeting our club was complimented by the Florida officers and representatives from the Denver headquarters for the wonderful response they receive to any requests. Our finances were in tip top shape, with not one single error for the last two years. When requests were made for any paperwork or write-ups for various projects or awards, items
from our Club were always in before the deadline. When calls went out for short term projects like Hug-a-Bears for a troop leaving for Iraq, we were the first to answer the call. Our hats off to the outgoing officers for this wonderful reputation – one that we intend to keep.
